Objectives: 

1. Discuss the fundamentals of Solution Focused Therapy.

2. Demonstrate use of Solution Focused Therapy tools.

3. Apply basic Solution Focused Therapy concepts to clinical practice.

Target Audience: 

Social Workers, Licensed Professional, Counselors and Therapists, Registered Nurses, and Interested Others.

Credit Statement: 

Successful completion of the program requires attendance for at least 90 percent of the course and a completed evaluation by the participant.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will have a general understanding of Solution Focused Therapy and how to best utilize the brief approach to better assist in treating clients and/or patients.  

Credit: 

Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 2 contact hours.

Counselors and Therapists: This program has been approved for 2 hours of continuing education by SC AHEC under its accreditation by the SC Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists.

Social Workers: This program has been approved for 2 clock hours of social work continuing education by Upstate AHEC, as part of the SC AHEC system, under its accreditation by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners.

Others: This program is approved for 0.2 CEUs (2 clock hours) by Upstate AHEC and meets the SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
