Healthcare Workforce Development Initiative

South Carolina AHEC’s healthcare workforce development initiative collects data on the non-licensed healthcare workforce from employers in rural and underserved communities to address gaps in healthcare workforce information and inform the development of effective, data-driven workforce recruitment and retention strategies.

Initiative Goals:

Collect

Connect with healthcare employers in rural and underserved counties to collect workforce data for non-licensed health professions.

Analyze

Assess county-level capacity, adequacy and demand for nonlicensed health professions and the availability and output of education/training programs.

Disseminate

Share results and data back into the communities and across the state to help stakeholders develop data-driven, effective workforce recruitment and retention policies and strategies.
