Privacy Policy

We do not release proprietary database information about your use of our site, including mailing and email addresses, to any third party. Personal information, including the name of the individual, is private to the South Carolina Area Health Education Program. We collect the domain name and email address of users to our site and other information used for site registrations. The information we collect is used to notify users about course dates, changes and reminders. This information is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes. We use industry standard, data encryption technology when we transfer and receive personal information on the website. We maintain appropriate security measures in our physical facilities to protect against loss, misuse, or alteration of information we have collected from you at our website.

Disclosure Statement

Upstate AHEC’s conflict of interest policy requires faculty to disclose any real or apparent commercial financial affiliations related to the content of their presentations/materials.

Speakers have signed a vested interest form declaring any conflict of interest in education activities. Please see individual activities for any conflicts of interest.

Provisions of these educational activities by Upstate AHEC does not imply endorsement by Upstate AHEC, SCNA or ANCC of any commercial products displayed in conjunction with activities.

Inclement Weather

If there is a need to cancel a program due to inclement weather, a message will be placed on the AHEC general mailbox (864) 349- 1160. AHEC will make every effort to notify pre-registered participants of cancellations. No refunds will be given, classes will be rescheduled.

Photo Statement

Photographs of participants attending Upstate AHEC Continuing Education programs may be taken. Please note that your comments and photographs may be used for publicity purposes only. Your image may be released to local, regional, and/or statewide publications in an effort to gain recognition for the program. Your statements and photographs may be used in a variety of AHEC brochures produced for program recruitment purposes. You will not be compensated for the publication of your statements or photographs.

The Upstate Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is committed to equality of educational opportunity and do not discriminate against applicants, students or employees on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or veteran’s status.  If you require reasonable accommodations for a disability in order to participate fully in a continuing education activity, please call 864-349-1160 no later than one week before the date of the activity.

Upstate AHEC Cancellation and Refund Policy Course Cancellations

Upstate AHEC reserves the right to cancel a continuing education course if enrollment is not sufficient to warrant offering the course. If a class must be canceled for  any reason, a full refund will be granted.

In the event Upstate AHEC should find it necessary to cancel or postpone a course for any reason including, but not  limited to, registration responses, strikes, or acts of God, a full refund will be   granted.

Upstate AHEC will not be liable for registrants’ expenses.

REFUNDS: Should you need to cancel, Upstate AHEC will refund your registration fee, if you notify us more than 48 hours prior to the course. No refunds will be given if request is received less than 48 hours prior to the workshop. Participant substitutions will be accepted. You may cancel via email or  telephone, 864-349-1160. No refunds for online courses.
