OBJECTIVES
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Describe invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
- Discuss the indications for use, care and maintenance of the pulmonary artery catheter as well as at least 3 complications.
- Discuss set-up and troubleshooting basics for invasive monitoring.
- Discuss appropriate waveforms for RA, RV, PCWP and normal values.
- Discuss and define preload, afterload and contractility.
- Interpret normal and abnormal hemodynamic profiles and appropriate response to findings.

CREDIT 0.3 CEUs, 3 clock hours-AHEC
