Accreditation

Upstate AHEC is approved as a provider of Continuing Education for:

Counselors and Therapists: SC AHEC is designated as an approved sponsor of continuing education by the SC Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists.

Occupational Therapists: SC AHEC has presumptive approval as a provider of continuing education for Occupational Therapists by the SC Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy.

Physical Therapists: SC AHEC is accredited by the SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Board of Examiners for Physical Therapy.

Registered Nurses: Upstate AHEC is approved as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the South Carolina Nurses Association, which is an accredited approver of continuing education by the American Nurses Association Commission on Accreditation.

Respiratory Therapists: Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing education for respiratory care practitioners by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.

Social Workers: Upstate AHEC is designated as an approved sponsor by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners of continuing education.

Surgical Technologists:
SC AHEC is designated as an approved sponsor of continuing education by the Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc. for continuing education in surgical technology.

Application for credit from other specialty groups is requested as needed and received prior to a specific program.

Disclosure Statement

Upstate AHEC’s conflict of interest policy requires faculty to disclose any real or apparent commercial financial affiliations related to the content of their presentations/materials.

The speaker(s) has signed a vested interest form declaring no conflict of interest in this activity.

Continuing Education Credit

All programs offered by Upstate AHEC meet SC AHEC CE Best Practice Standards. Participants must attend 90% of the program to receive a certificate. No partial credit will be given.  Participants not meeting requirements for satisfactory completion may undergo remediation and/or retake criteria; however, no certificate of completion will be awarded until re-mediation/retake has occurred.

Continuing Education Certificate Reprints: Professional continuing education certificates are made available at the end of each program. Please make every effort to pick up your certificate and keep it in a safe place. There is a $5.00 charge for a duplicate certificate. Payment must be received before request can be processed.

Transcript Requests

Continuing education transcripts are available upon request. There is a $10.00 charge for a transcript request. Payment must be received before transcript request can be processed.

Inclement Weather

If there is a need to cancel a program due to inclement weather, a message will be placed on the AHEC general mailbox (864) 349- 1160. AHEC will make every effort to notify pre-registered participants of cancellations. No refunds will be given, classes will be rescheduled.

Photo Statement

Photographs of participants attending Upstate AHEC Continuing Education programs may be taken. Please note that your comments and photographs may be used for publicity purposes only. Your image may be released to local, regional, and/or statewide publications in an effort to gain recognition for the program. Your statements and photographs may be used in a variety of AHEC brochures produced for program recruitment purposes. You will not be compensated for the publication of your statements or photographs.
