Welcome to Upstate AHEC Continuing Education.
Upstate AHEC is dedicated to providing a comprehensive selection of live and distance learning continuing education offerings to healthcare providers in an eleven-county service area stretching from Spartanburg County to Edgefield County. Continuing Education (CE) programs at Upstate AHEC are designed to improve health outcomes and quality of life for South Carolinians through the provision of accessible, high-quality, evidence-based educational services to healthcare professionals.
Annually, Upstate AHEC provides more than 135 live and distance-learning continuing education courses designed to meet the comprehensive education and training needs of the region’s healthcare workforce. Opportunities for continuing education are available in three convenient formats. Live programs are scheduled at specific times and locations in the Upstate area and feature an on-site instructor. A videoconferencing system, the South Carolina Health Occupations Outreach Learning System (SCHOOLS), provides live programming at specific times from a remote location. SCHOOLS courses are then shared live through videoconferencing systems to 28 locations statewide. Internet web-based courses through AHEC U can be taken at anytime and anyplace Internet access is available.
