Purpose: Help participants to identify signs and symptoms of Compassion Fatigue and self-care strategies to transform Compassion Fatigue into Compassion Satisfaction.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify the symptoms of Compassion Fatigue.
- Complete a self-evaluation to create awareness of any indicators of Compassion Fatigue within themselves.
- Utilize self-care tips for prevention or resolution of Compassion Fatigue through use of resources, handouts and tools provided.
Target Audience
Licensed Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Social Workers, Counselors and Therapists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Interested Others
Fee
$ 40 for non-members; No Fee for AHEC members
Credit
Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 2 contact hours.
Counselors and Therapists: This program has been approved for 2 hours of continuing education by SC AHEC under its accreditation by the SC Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists.
Social Workers: This program has been approved for 2 clock hours of non-social work continuing education by Upstate AHEC, as part of the SC AHEC system, under its accreditation by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners.
Occupational Therapists: This program has been approved for 2.4 contact hours of continuing education for Occupational Therapists. SC AHEC has presumptive approval as a provider of continuing education for Occupational Therapists by the SC Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy.
Physical Therapists: This program has been approved for 2.4 contact hours of continuing education by SC AHEC under its accreditation by the SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Board of Examiners for Physical Therapy.
Others: This program is approved for 0.2 CEUs (2 clock hours) by Upstate AHEC and meets the SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
