Purpose: To provide participants with an update on management of patients with heart failure and acute coronary syndrome.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the collaborative management of patients with heart failure.
- Describe the clinical effects of drugs used in the management of cardiac failure.
- Define the use of non-pharmacologic therapies in the management of heart failure
- Define Acute Coronary Syndrome differentiating between unstable angina, NSTEMI and STEMI
- Describe the evidence-based treatment for the patient with ACS.
- Describe at least 3 complications of acute MI
- Describe the management of the patient in cardiogenic shock.

Fee
$ 80 for non-members; No Fee for AHEC members
Credit
Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 6 contact hours.
Respiratory Therapists: This program has been approved for 6 hours of continuing education by South Carolina AHEC an approved provider of continuing education for respiratory care practitioners by the SC Board of Medical Examiners
Others: This program is approved for 0.6 CEUs (6.0 clock hours) by Upstate AHEC and meets the SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
